Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, in response to reports about the dispatch of US Air Force F-16 fighter jets from Misawa Air Base in Japan to the Middle East to carry out operations against Iran, called on the people of this country to hold the Japanese government accountable for America’s actions.
Araqchi said in an interview with Kyodo News Agency: “The peace-loving people of Japan should hold their government accountable for America’s crimes.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister’s remarks came as reports have been published about the US using fighter jets based at Misawa Air Base in connection with military operations against Iran.
In this regard, the British news site "UK Defense Journal" had previously reported that F-16 fighter jets based at the US air base in Misawa, Aomori Prefecture, Japan, were transferred to the Middle East to participate in operations related to Iran in March and April. This report has not yet been accompanied by an official comment from Japanese officials.
Referring to the possible role of these fighter jets in the US operation against Iran, Araghchi emphasized the responsibility of the Japanese government for the use of facilities and capacities located in this country.
