Intensive meetings of the Iranian President with the leaders of India, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Summit

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to news sources, Masoud Pazeshkian, the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and consulted with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadr Jabbarov, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the summit of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Shanghai Plus in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

 

According to the report, during the meeting between Pezdekian and Emomali Rahmon, the two sides discussed the latest state of relations and cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe, as well as ways to strengthen joint interactions in various fields. The two sides also emphasized the need to use existing capacities to develop and deepen bilateral relations.

 

Continuing their meetings, the Iranian President also met with Sadr Jabbarov, President of Kyrgyzstan. According to the Kyrgyz news agency "Akipress" quoting the press office of the country's presidency, the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Tehran and Bishkek were discussed in this meeting.

 

Economic, energy, transport and logistics cooperation were among the areas of consultation between Pezdekian and Jabbarov. The two sides also emphasized the expansion of joint cooperation and the use of existing capacities to strengthen relations between the two countries.

 

Pezzekian also met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and discussed the latest status of bilateral relations and cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad. This meeting was also held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Shanghai Plus summits in Bishkek.

 

In this meeting, the two sides, while reviewing the latest developments and trends in cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, emphasized the need to utilize existing capacities to develop and deepen bilateral relations in various fields.

 

On the other hand, Iranian President Masoud Pezzekian, in a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran “never welcomes war” and that the government’s responsibility is to keep people away from danger and insecurity and to provide them with an environment of peace, tranquility, and security. He pointed out that the American side has not fulfilled its commitments to Iran, and said that Tehran is still working to achieve an agreement and understanding.

 

Emphasizing India's high potential to help strengthen peace and stability in the region, the Iranian President said that Iran and India can enhance their economic cooperation by neutralizing the effects of sanctions. He also emphasized the need to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries under sanctions.

 

In contrast, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to the ancient civilizational relations between Iran and India, considered it a valuable support for the development of bilateral cooperation and emphasized the strengthening of economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

 

After meeting with the Iranian President, the Indian Prime Minister wrote in a tweet: "I met with Mr. Masoud Peshkian, President of Iran, in Bishkek. I once again emphasized our commitment to strengthening India's long-standing friendship with Iran in various fields."

 

He added: "We want to expand and diversify our trade portfolio in the coming period." We also discussed the current situation in the region. India will continue to support all efforts to ensure lasting peace.
