Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Regarding the goals of the country's presence at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Foreign Minister, said that Tehran is first seeking to realize the rights of the Iranian people in connection with the recent wars and conflicts.
Referring to the turbulent situation in the region, he stated that the SCO member states must be aware of the developments in the region and adopt correct and united stances against them.
Iranian President Masoud Pezzekian arrived in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on Monday afternoon to attend and deliver a speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and the Shanghai Plus summit.
During the two-day visit, Pezzekian will also meet with a number of heads of state and officials from participating countries, including the prime ministers of India and Pakistan and the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, and discuss bilateral issues and regional developments.
The SCO summit is scheduled to be held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, and the Shanghai Plus summit will also be held on the sidelines of the summit.
