Yemen: US commits war crime by attacking wedding in Iran

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: In the context of continuing reactions to the US crime against humanity in targeting a wedding in Sirik, Hormozgan Province, Iran, the Yemeni National Human Rights Commission issued a statement saying: We strongly condemn the brutal crime of the American enemy in attacking a wedding in Iran, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of civilians.

 

The Yemeni National Human Rights Commission added: This brutal attack is a full-fledged war crime and a clear violation of international humanitarian law and the four Geneva Conventions; conventions that consider targeting civilian targets and safe residential areas a crime.

 

The statement continued: The Yemeni National Human Rights Commission strongly condemns this treacherous and criminal aggression by the United States and holds the terrorist government of the United States responsible for the shedding of innocent blood and the creation of terror among civilians.

 

The Yemeni National Human Rights Commission further called for an immediate and independent international investigation into this crime and the trial and punishment of its perpetrators in international courts, calling it a crime against humanity and a war crime that is not subject to any statute of limitations.

 

This Yemeni institution emphasized: The blood of these innocent Iranian citizens will never be wasted and will remain as a stain of shame on the foreheads of all those who participated in this aggression, justified it, or remained silent about it.

 

The Yemeni National Human Rights Commission further emphasized the right of nations to defend themselves, their sovereignty and security and stated: Systematic targeting of civilians under any pretext has no justification, and we call on international organizations, the United Nations and the Human Rights Council to assume their responsibilities, abandon their policy of double standards, and issue a clear statement condemning this aggression and preventing its recurrence.

 

According to media reports, following the attack by American criminals on residential areas and a wedding ceremony in the city of Kohstak, Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, Iran, Ahmad Nafisi, Deputy Governor of Hormozgan for Political, Security and Social Affairs, explained the details of this enemy crime and said: So far, 4 people have been martyred and 50 have been injured as a result of this attack.

 

He added: 15 ambulances were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance to the victims, and the debris removal operation has also been completed. Some of the injured were treated as outpatients after receiving medical services, and others were transferred to Minab Hospital for more specialized services.

 

Referring to the ongoing investigation of the injured, Nafisi said: "Given the current conditions and the condition of some of the victims, there is a possibility that the number of martyrs will increase, and the final statistics will be announced after the completion of investigations and medical measures."
