Afghanistan calls for expanding exports to Chelyabinsk, Russia

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Trade, met with Nikita Kornienko, Minister of International and Interregional Cooperation of Chelyabinsk Province, Russia, and a number of businessmen from this province and discussed developing economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.

 

The press office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in a press release, said that during this meeting, issues including expanding economic and trade relations, exporting Afghan goods to Chelyabinsk, importing modern machinery and technologies from Russia, and strengthening banking interactions were discussed and reviewed.

 

In this meeting, Mr. Azizi announced Afghanistan's readiness to establish a center for supplying Russian goods in Afghanistan and also to establish a market for supplying Afghan goods in the Chelyabinsk province of Russia.

 

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the establishment of such centers can provide greater access for traders from both sides to each other's markets and increase trade exchanges between Afghanistan and Russia.

 

Meanwhile, the Minister of International and Interregional Cooperation of Chelyabinsk province invited an Afghan delegation and representatives of the country's private sector to visit the province.

 

This invitation was welcomed by the Afghan Minister of Industry and Trade, and Mr. Azizi emphasized Kabul's readiness to develop trade and economic interactions with Chelyabinsk.

 

This meeting is taking place at a time when Afghanistan has been trying to expand its trade relations with regional countries and new markets in recent years. Establishing direct markets for Afghan goods and developing cooperation in the machinery, technology, and banking services sectors can provide the basis for increasing exports and facilitating trade between Afghanistan and Russia.
