China's Ministry of Commerce issued a statement on Thursday, condemning the new US sanctions on Iran and calling for the immediate lifting of sanctions imposed on Chinese companies and citizens.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Huang Ling, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, in response to Washington's recent sanctions against nearly 60 Iran-related entities, including several in China, stressed that Beijing "strongly opposes unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law and are not approved by the UN Security Council."

He added that these sanctions "improperly interfere with normal trade between countries and severely disrupt the security and stability of global energy supply."

A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce also responded to recent remarks by US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, describing the use of the G20 platform to raise issues such as “economic imbalance” and “overcapacity” as “an excuse for protectionism and putting pressure on China.”

He stressed that Beijing strongly opposes the use of multilateral institutions such as the G20 to create “economic disruptions” and called on all countries to help maintain the stability of global industrial and supply chains by strengthening multilateralism and policy coordination.
