Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry said: “Yes, we need our partners and allies, but we cannot rely solely on them for our security.”
Referring to the recent war between the US and the Israeli regime against Iran, he emphasized that the Arab Gulf countries should not rely solely on strategic partnerships with the US to ensure their security and that “self-sufficiency in security is our only way forward.”
These statements come at a time when the six-month war between the US and the Israeli regime against Iran has fundamentally affected the security equations of the region.
In response to the aggression, Iranian armed forces have struck powerful blows at US and Israeli military interests in the region, rendering most of the opposing bases useless, according to sources. Qatar, which, despite its warm relations with Tehran, has been repeatedly targeted by Iranian retaliatory attacks during the recent war, has seen firsthand the limitations of relying solely on external powers as a key mediator in the conflict and as host to one of the largest US military bases in the region.
