US fuel prices hit historic record
With the escalation of the six-month war between the US and the Zionist regime against Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran and the disruption of oil flows, fuel prices in the US reached a new historic record during the Labor Day weekend.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the American Automobile Manufacturers Association (AAA), the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline across the country reached $4.14 to $4.15, which is more than a dollar more than last year. This is the first time in history that the price of gasoline has crossed the $4 mark on Labor Day. Meanwhile, the price of diesel fuel has also reached an unprecedented record of $5.85 per gallon.

Fuel prices have increased sharply since the joint US-Zionist attack on Iran on February 28 (March 9) and have never returned to pre-war levels.

The main reason for this increase is the significant decrease in tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s refusal to reopen it due to the US’s breach of its commitment.

According to the report, experts believe that the Iran war and disruption in the Strait of Hormuz were the main drivers of this price increase. According to data from Brown University, since the war began, the increase in the price of diesel and gasoline has added more than $741 to the cost of each American family.

The impact of this price increase goes beyond the cost of cars and has also put pressure on supply chains and the cost of living. The increase in the price of diesel, the main fuel for trucks, has increased the cost of transporting goods, and this increase has also been passed on to the price of goods in stores and packaging services.
