China and Russia stand by North Korea; Emphasis on strengthening strategic ties

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: While Western pressure on Moscow continues over the Ukraine war, the congratulatory message from the leaders of China and Russia on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the founding of North Korea has made headlines.

A common point in the congratulatory messages of the Chinese and Russian presidents to Kim Jong-un is their emphasis on strategic ties with North Korea.

According to the official North Korean news agency, Xi Jinping told Kim that he is willing to continue to "strengthen the strategic direction" of relations and work with him to advance the development of the two countries.

The Chinese president also assured the North Korean leader that strengthening and developing bilateral ties remains the "constant and unwavering policy" of the ruling party and government of China.

Vladimir Putin, in a congratulatory message to the North Korean leader, said he would continue “closest joint cooperation” with Kim to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

According to the Russian president, stronger ties between Russia and North Korea will contribute to regional security and a “more just and multipolar world order.”

The congratulatory messages from the leaders of Russia and China were published on the front page of the North Korean ruling Workers’ Party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun.

According to the North’s official Korean Central News Agency, Kim also received congratulatory messages from the leaders of several other countries, including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia, Sweden, Belarus, Singapore, Switzerland and Zimbabwe.
