Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – International Service: Citing Al-Mayadeen, Yemeni armed forces are on the verge of taking control of the strategic port of Al-Mukha in the country's west, along the Red Sea coast.
An Al-Mayadeen correspondent reported that Yemeni armed forces have secured control over the Al-Wazi'iyah, Al-Khokha, and Hays areas and have approached the entrances to the strategic port of Al-Mukha.
Strategic Port of Al-Mukha on the Verge of Coming Under Yemeni Armed Forces' Control
The Al-Mayadeen correspondent emphasized that Yemeni armed forces have succeeded in seizing key areas and military bases in the Al-Mukha port area, located in the western part of Taiz Governorate.
According to the correspondent, Yemeni forces have taken control of the Khalid base as well as the Jabal al-Nar base—which served as the command headquarters for Saudi-aligned forces on the West Coast.
Yemeni media reported that a large number of Saudi-aligned forces surrendered to the Yemeni armed forces at the Al-Mukha airfield.
Additionally, Tariq Saleh, the commander of Saudi-aligned forces on Yemen's West Coast, announced that they were forced to redeploy their troops and retreat to an area south of the Al-Mukha port. This news comes as Reuters, citing Yemeni government sources, reports that the Ansarullah movement has seized control of the city of Al-Mukha and established dominance over approximately 2,600 square kilometers of territory surrounding this strategic port.
Al-Mukha is a strategic port located on the Red Sea coast, near the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Its significance lies particularly in the monitoring and control of Red Sea shipping lanes, the transport of goods, and its military position in the Yemen war; its fall would mean the loss of Saudi Arabia's most important military and logistical base on Yemen's western coast.
