151 Foreign Tourists Visit Badakhshan’s Attractions
The General Directorate of State-Owned Enterprises has announced that during the second quarter of the Solar Hijri year 1405 AH, 151 foreign tourists visited Badakhshan province, exploring a number of its tourist attractions, historical and ancient sites, and natural landscapes.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Kabul: The press office of the General Directorate of State-Owned Enterprises issued a statement announcing that 151 foreign tourists visited Badakhshan province during the second quarter of the Solar Hijri year 1405.

The Directorate stated on its X (formerly Twitter) page that these tourists visited various tourist attractions, historical and ancient sites, natural landscapes, and well-known tourism areas within Badakhshan.

According to the General Directorate of State-Owned Enterprises, the purpose of these visits was to familiarize foreign tourists firsthand with the historical, cultural, and natural attractions of Badakhshan province.

The Directorate added that the state-owned company "Afghan Tour," while providing necessary facilities for foreign tourists, is striving to foster the growth of tourism and ensure the provision of standardized tourism services across the country.

According to news sources and social media reports, Badakhshan province has become a popular destination for foreign tourists in recent years due to its unique natural attractions—such as the Zorkul and Shiva lakes, the towering Pamir Mountains, and lush green valleys—as well as its numerous historical sites. Online, many users have welcomed the increased presence of tourists in the province, describing it as a "sign of relatively improved security and the country's appeal as a tourism destination." It is worth noting that in recent years, attention toward the country's tourism industry has grown; the state-owned company Afghan Tour, as the primary entity overseeing this sector, has endeavored to attract foreign tourists by providing facilities and showcasing tourist attractions. According to published statistics, thousands of foreign tourists visited various parts of the country during the year 1404.

Tourism and economic experts believe that the increased presence of foreign tourists in Badakhshan province demonstrates the region's significant potential for attracting visitors and boosting the tourism industry.

Observers note that given Badakhshan’s exceptional natural and historical attractions, investment in tourism infrastructure—such as hotels, transportation, and tour guide services—could help increase tourist numbers and generate income for local residents.

Some experts also emphasize the need for targeted international promotion and the streamlining of visa processes for foreign tourists, enabling the country to capture a larger share of the regional tourism market.
