Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Sports Desk: The national cricket team faces India today (Sunday) in the opening match of a three-game T20 series. The match is scheduled for 6:30 PM (Kabul time) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The series runs until September 17 (Sanbola 26), with all three matches taking place at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. The second match is scheduled for September 15, and the third for September 17.
The significance of this series lies in the fact that according to sports sources it is the first time the national cricket board has taken full responsibility for hosting a bilateral series against India. This event follows previous encounters between the two teams; they played three T20 matches in January 2024 and faced each other in three One Day International (ODI) matches this past June.
With these matches, the two teams will have competed against each other across all three international cricket formats: Test, ODI, and T20. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, a renowned Indian cricket venue, is hosting all three matches of the series. According to sports reports, this tri-nation series featuring the national team, India, and Bangladesh is being held as part of the national cricket team's preparation for upcoming competitions.
