District intelligence shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kunar
According to local authorities in eastern Kunar province district intelligence, national directorate for security (NDS) chief for Dangam was shot dead by unknowng gunmen on Monday.

Provincial governor spokesman Wasifullah Wasif confirming the report said Dangam district NDS chief Hajji Ghulam Habib was assassinated by unknown gunmen today.

Mr. Wasif further addded he was shot dead by unknown gunmen while he was meeting a local civilian.

A spokesman for the Taliban group Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsbility behind the attack.

In the meantime local security officials in eastern Nangarhar province on Monday announced Afghan security forces arrested two suspected militants along with 2,000 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, which is used by militants to make improvised explosive device.

A spokesman for Afghan border protection police forces Edris Mohamad said the militants were looking to transport the ammonium to eastern Kunar province.(AOP)
