A look at the prospect of military relations between Afghanistan and the world

6 Jul 2022 - 15:19

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Today's view: It is not expected that during Mullah Yaqoob Mujahid's visit to Qatar, an unexpected change will occur in the military relations of the "Islamic Emirate" with the countries of the world. Because there is still a long and difficult road ahead in this field, and a government that has not been recognized by any country, will not be able to easily gain the trust and confidence of the world to establish a strategic and long-term military trade and plan. Build a beneficial and fruitful strategic relationship.

Mullah Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid; Acting Minister of Defense of "Islamic Emirate" headed a delegation to Qatar for a two-day trip.

Mohammad Naeem; The spokesperson of the political office of the "Islamic Emirate" in Qatar wrote on Twitter that Mr. Mujahid will meet high-ranking Qatari officials on his first official visit.

Last week Amir Khan Muttaqi; Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs also went to Qatar and had meetings with European and American diplomatic representatives.

According to Hugo Shorter; The British Embassy's Charge d'affaires Afghanistan, based in Doha, Qatar, has given the Taliban's Foreign Ministry a "clear message" that stability in Afghanistan requires inclusive governance, respect for human rights and urgent action for economic recovery.

Almost a year ago, since the "Islamic Emirate" came to power in Afghanistan, no country has recognized their government.

Qatar is not considered a major military power in the Middle East region. The security of this country depends on the presence of American military forces. The abundant economic wealth and important political roles of the Doha government do not necessarily mean its military power.

Qatar, like many other Arab regimes, relies on American support to meet its security needs. At the same time, the Doha government, like other rich Arab regimes, spends billions of dollars annually to buy weapons from America and European powers. Therefore, it is not expected that the visit of the Acting Minister of Defense of the "Islamic Emirate" to Doha will lead to the strengthening of Kabul's military power.

However, as mentioned above, during the last few days, the presence of Amir Khan Motaghi; Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of "Islamic Emirate" in Doha has also been in the focus of attention of media and analysts. During his stay in Doha, he had direct and multilateral meetings with the ambassadors and special representatives of major western powers, including America, England, the European Union and etc.

It is predicted that Mullah Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid's trip; Acting Minister of Defense of "Islamic Emirate" to Qatar for the same purpose. Maybe in this trip, in addition to meeting and talking with Qatari officials, he will also meet ambassadors and special envoys of other countries.

Although so far, a number of countries in the region and the world have accepted some diplomats of the "Islamic Emirate" and the country's political representatives have been handed over to the current Kabul government; But Qatar is still the only country where the only official and legitimate political representation of the Taliban is located. Therefore, diplomats, ministers and senior agents of the "Islamic Emirate" government use the Doha office to negotiate with world powers.

On the other hand, European and American countries, which do not have official diplomatic relations with the Taliban, have stationed their ambassadors and diplomatic representatives in Afghanistan affairs in Doha. From this point of view, it is expected that Mullah Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid will discuss the affairs of Afghanistan with the envoys of other countries during this two-day trip.

In this way, this is considered an important and multilateral trip and it is expected that during it, the Acting Minister of Defense of the Islamic Emirate, in addition to intensive consultations about the concerns, concerns, demands and expectations of the world from the Taliban to fight With ISIS and al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups in Afghanistan, in the field of strengthening the military power of the "Islamic Emirate", organizing, training and equipping the army being built by the Taliban, receiving financial aid and weapons for the country's military sector and similar matters.

However, it is not expected that during this trip, an unexpected change will occur in the military relations of the "Islamic Emirate" with the countries of the world; Because there is still a long and difficult road ahead in this field, and a government that has not been recognized by any country, will not be able to easily gain the trust and confidence of the world to establish a strategic and long-term military trade and plan. Build a beneficial and fruitful strategic relationship.

Nevertheless, since this is the first foreign trip of the highest military official of the "Islamic Emirate", it is undoubtedly of great importance and hopes for the development of Kabul's relations with the world, especially in the field of military and security cooperation in the long term.
