A look at the most important overt and covert factors behind the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government
Hashemi Rasti/ As long as Bashar al-Assad was committed to the axis of resistance and considered defending Palestine his duty, he had a special respect and status among Muslims and the axis of resistance, higher than most Islamic rulers. However, without a doubt and for whatever reason, he made a strategic mistake and error, trusted the United States and some Arab countries, and avoided joining the axis of resistance, thus losing the support of the axes of resistance, especially the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Of course, it is no secret to those who know that Iran hoped that Bashar al-Assad would return to the resistance front even at the last moment to provide a strong and powerful defense for his government, but this did not happen and in the end the Syrian government fell, without the Syrian army showing any resistance against the opposition.
This is despite the fact that the Assad government did not even ask for help from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and negotiations between some Iranian officials and Bashar Assad were completely fruitless, because the US had promised Assad that if he severed ties with Iran, Hezbollah, and the regional axis of resistance, the US sanctions against Syria would not be extended.
In his last meeting with Bashar Assad, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei, had said: "Be careful and watch out for the West's new plans for Syria," but the deposed Syrian ruler has recently seriously wanted to prove to the West that his government is not seeking war and has tried to show a conciliatory spirit.
On the other hand, due to widespread dissatisfaction with the government in some places and cities, the Syrian people not only welcomed the opposition, but also supported them.
Facts and events on the ground have proven that the opponents of the Bashar Assad government, after the recent advances that began in Aleppo, easily reached Hama and then Damascus, and took control of them.
Considering the evidence and clues regarding recent events and developments, it is clear that this process has taken place in coordination with the United States, Israel, NATO, Qatar, Turkey and some other Arab countries, but it seems that Turkey will occupy part of Syrian lands in accordance with its own interests in the plan and scenario for changing the Middle East. Overthrowing the government in Syria and dividing this country is undoubtedly an American and Turkish Zionist scenario, whose directors and actors behind the scenes are the United States and NATO.
