Imam Ali (AS); A Symbol of Exemplary Fatherhood
The birth of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS), which occurred on Rajab 13th, 600 AD, in the Kaaba in Mecca, is one of the most important occasions in the history of Islam. Imam Ali (AS) is known as the first Imam of the Shiites, the husband of Hazrat Fatima (S), and the father of Imam Hassan and Imam Hussein (AS). He was not only a great figure in religious and moral terms, but also emerged as a just and wise leader in various social, military, political, and economic fields. This day is also celebrated as Father's Day in many Islamic countries. The birth of Imam Ali (AS), as a symbol of exemplary fatherhood, emphasizes the importance of the role of the father in the family and society, and on this day, the position of the father is honored.
The duty of children on Father's Day
In Islamic teachings, respecting parents is emphasized as one of the greatest good deeds. In the Holy Quran, in verse 23 of Surah Al-Isra, God commands children to respect their parents and to be kind to them:
"And your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and to be kind to your parents. If one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them, "Fuck," or "scold," but speak to them in a gentle and respectful manner."
Imam Ali (AS) also said in this regard: "The best of you are those who are kind to their parents."
Therefore, the birthday of Imam Ali (AS) and Father's Day is an opportunity for children to think about their duties towards their fathers.

Children's duties on Father's Day are divided into several parts:
1. Respect and love: Children should respect and love their fathers throughout the year. Imam Ali (AS) has mentioned the importance of love and respect for parents in many of his speeches.
2. Prayer and Emotional Support: Praying for fathers and providing emotional support to them, especially in old age, is one of the great duties of children.
3. Providing material and spiritual assistance: Children should help their fathers in times of need, both materially and spiritually. Fathers make sacrifices for the family throughout their lives, and children should be accountable for these sacrifices.
4. Acting on the teachings of the father: One way to respect the father is to act on his instructions and teachings. Imam Ali (AS) always emphasized the importance of proper education and upbringing, and children should act on the religious and moral instructions of their fathers.
5. Preserving and safeguarding spiritual heritage: Fathers often have valuable experiences and teachings that children should preserve and pass on to future generations.

And finally; The anniversary of the birth of Imam Ali (AS) is not only an opportunity to celebrate the birth of one of the greatest figures in Islamic history, but Father's Day is also seen as an opportunity to review and renew respect and love for fathers. By following the teachings of Imam Ali (AS), children can practically fulfill their duties towards their fathers and establish a strong and effective relationship with them by loving, respecting, helping and supporting them.
