The Holy Qur'an and the Messenger of God (PBUH) have repeatedly called us to unity and unity. This is a clear message that Muslims must hold on to the divine rope and avoid division. The Noble Prophet of Islam (PBUH) always emphasized brotherhood among believers. The biographies of Sunni scholars and Shia imams are also full of beautiful examples of coexistence and mutual respect. Shia and Sunni share many fundamental issues of religion. Both of them believe in one God, prophethood of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the great Qur'an and the Day of Resurrection. Common acts of worship such as prayer, fasting, zakat and Hajj bring us closer together. Moral values such as justice, compassion, respect for parents and helping the needy also have a high place in both religions. These common points show that differences should not separate us. Unfortunately, factors such as religious misunderstandings, ethnic prejudices and foreign interventions have caused this unity to be damaged. The divisive policies of some powers are also among the reasons that have created a divide among Muslims. These divisions have weakened the Islamic nation and strengthened the enemies of Islam. Sectarian wars and the resulting social problems have brought many sufferings to our people.
One of the ways to reduce these problems is a sincere dialogue between Shia and Sunni scholars. These meetings can eliminate misunderstandings and bring hearts together. The youth, as the future-making generation, play an important role in strengthening unity. If young people get to know common Islamic values from childhood and avoid religious prejudices; They can build a future full of hope for the Islamic nation. When we talk about common issues, we can better understand each other and reach common solutions. Shia and Sunni have common goals against the enemies of Islam and in social and humanitarian issues. When we work together to fight poverty, hunger and injustice, we can build a better world for ourselves and future generations. Successful examples of joint collaborations have shown that this alliance can bring great results. Shia and Sunni unity is not only a religious duty, but also a human and social necessity. We Muslims should join hands, take advantage of our common points and work to build a strong and united nation. As a Sunni youth, who has a deep bond with the Shia community, I wish that one day all Muslims will live in peace and solidarity and have a single voice to defend Islam. The pictures below show examples of unity and solidarity among Muslims.
