Stewardship; The Secret of Unity of the Islamic Ummah Against the Enemies’ Divisiveness
Unity and solidarity have been among the most basic needs of the Islamic Ummah throughout history. Since the first days of its emergence, Islam has called Muslims to brotherhood, empathy, and avoidance of differences. The Holy Quran has introduced Muslims as a single nation and warned them against dispersion and division. In today’s world, when the enemies of Islam are seeking to create discord among Muslims through various cultural, media, political, and economic means, the issue of stewardship has become more important than ever.
Stewardship means following divine leadership and moving along the path of religious and Islamic values. This principle can be a factor in the cohesion, solidarity, and strength of the Islamic Ummah. Whenever Muslims have gathered around the axis of stewardship and divine leadership, they have achieved honor and authority, and whenever they have distanced themselves from this axis, they have been caught in weakness, disagreement, and defeat.

The concept of guardianship and guardianship:
The word guardianship comes from the root word “wali” meaning closeness, guardianship, friendship, and leadership. In Islamic culture, guardianship means the right to guide and lead the Islamic community based on divine command. Guardianship also means accepting this leadership and moving along the path determined by God and His prophets.
The Holy Quran states: “Indeed, your guardian and guardian is only God, His Messenger, and those who believe” (Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse 55). That is: Your guardian and guardian is only God, His Messenger, and those who believe.
Thus, the Islamic system is built on the basis of divine guardianship, and Muslims must move along the path of this guardianship.

The Place of Unity in Islam:
Islam is the religion of unity and solidarity. God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: “And hold fast to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided” (Surah Al-Imran, verse 103). This means: Hold fast to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided.
This verse is one of the most important divine commands regarding the unity of Muslims. The Holy Quran introduces differences and disputes as a cause of weakness and defeat and says: “And do not dispute, lest you become weak and your strength vanish” (Surah Anfal, verse 46). This means: Do not dispute, lest you become weak and your strength vanish.
Therefore, unity is not only a moral recommendation, but also a social, political and religious necessity for the Islamic nation.

Guardianship and its role in creating unity:
One of the most important factors of unity in any society is the existence of a common axis. In the Islamic society, this axis is guardianship and divine leadership. Guardianship causes Muslims to have common goals, common values, and common direction.
When people follow a divine leader, ethnic, racial, linguistic, and regional differences fade and everyone moves in the same direction. In the early days of Islam, Muslims, despite their many ethnic and tribal differences, became a single nation under the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
This unity was so powerful that it was able to challenge the greatest powers of the time and establish a great civilization.

The incident of Ghadir and the importance of guardianship in Islam:
One of the most important events in the history of Islam is the incident of Ghadir Khum. In this incident, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) explained the issue of guardianship to Muslims by divine command.
Ghadir is not just a historical event, but also demonstrates the importance of divine leadership in maintaining the correct path of the Islamic community. The message of Ghadir is that the Islamic community needs divine and competent leadership to maintain unity, justice, and religious values.
If Muslims view the message of Ghadir as a factor of unity and cohesion, many differences and misunderstandings will disappear and the Islamic nation will be able to withstand challenges with greater strength.
