Having religious-historical support, oppression combined with authority, being resilient and courageous, religiousness, the evil of the opposing front, and numerous other characteristics have made Palestine a sensitive issue. Given the events of the last few years, attention to the Palestinian issue, especially after October 7, has taken an upward trend at the global level.
But in the Islamic world, the Palestinian cause has always been the focus of attention; although the intensity and lack of attention to this issue has also been affected by the events that took place in Palestine.
But how did it happen that when Palestine came to the aid, the body of the Islamic community also came to the aid and trembled?
The sanctity of the land that is in the hearts of Muslims
The land of Palestine has a special place among Muslims for various reasons, such as the existence of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first Qibla of Muslims, the presence of the burial places of a number of divine prophets, hadiths about the virtue of Palestine from the Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Ali (AS), and also because Al-Aqsa Mosque was the place of the ascension of the beloved Prophet of Islam (PBUH).
Also, in general, the land of Palestine is mentioned in the Holy Quran as the "Holy Land" and the "Blessed Land", which itself indicates the sanctity of this land.
From limited land purchase to usurpation of a land
About 80 years ago, the Zionists purchased a total of about 5 to 7.5 percent of the lands of Palestine; but some time later, using the same pretext, they usurped ownership of approximately 78 percent of this holy land and thus, in this usurped place, they created a quasi-garrison and, in their own opinion and illusion, a state called Israel.
Since then, the Islamic world has been sensitive to this issue, and at least one of the causes of the conflicts between Israel and the Arabs was this issue.
Quds Day; The Lasting Legacy of Imam Khomeini (RA)
The Palestinian cause was also prominent in the thinking of Imam Khomeini (RA). One of his most prominent actions in support of Palestine was the design and naming of the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as "Quds Day".
In the Islamic calendar, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan is known as "Quds Day". On this day, gatherings and gatherings are held in all corners of the world in support of the oppressed people of Palestine. The peak of the Palestinian cause can be seen on this day in the streets of the Islamic Republic of Iran, where large gatherings, sometimes several kilometers long, are held in large cities such as Tehran and Mashhad.
From sympathy to action; an awakening that knows no borders
Over time, and as the suffering and crime in Palestine intensified, the attention of Muslims and free people of the world to this issue increased more than ever. This sympathy was not limited to expressing emotions; from holding gatherings and sending humanitarian aid to being active in cyberspace and supporting the Palestinian people and resistance movements, various manifestations of this sympathy took shape. Even the action of Aaron Bushnell, an American soldier who set himself on fire in protest of the Gaza war, showed that this issue has in some cases transcended religious and geographical boundaries.
In this way, Palestine gradually went beyond a purely regional issue and became a criterion for measuring the positions of individuals, movements, and even governments. It can be said that one of the most important manifestations of this convergence was the formation of a kind of awakening and general sensitivity in the Islamic world and among many free people of the world towards the issue of Palestine.
Martyrs of the Resistance; Capitals that paved the way with their blood
In contemporary history, figures such as Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah (may Allah have mercy on him), who made support for Palestine an important part of their discourse, gained considerable popularity among parts of the Islamic world and even beyond. Support for Palestine has also been an important factor in shaping the positive view of a part of the public opinion of the Islamic world towards the Islamic Republic of Iran and its leaders.
Although global Zionism has published and disseminated numerous rumors to cast doubt on the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to damage the view of Muslims towards it due to its support for Palestine, these efforts have not been able to separate the Islamic Republic's support for Palestine from its official and practical positions. Ultimately, the martyrdom of the Leader of the Revolution and dozens of senior commanders of the Islamic Republic was engraved in the history of Islam, and they proved their full support with their own blood.
