Distribution of about 2 million electronic ID cards and transfer of more than 5 million items
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Based on information provided by Maulvi Zabihullah Mujahid, the National Statistics and Information Department distributed about 2 million electronic ID cards during 1447 AH, of which 1 million and 500 thousand were issued for men and 500 thousand were issued for women.
Also, during the same period, about one million new and duplicate paper ID cards and 20,000 paper ID cards for nomads have been distributed. In addition, paper ID card correction services have been provided to 139,000 people in person and about 214,000 people online.
According to him, more than 126,000 birthday cards and about 25,000 foot-prints have been distributed last year, and in order to facilitate services, an "Easy Service" center has been activated in Shahr-e-Naw, Kabul, and four other centers in Balkh, Herat, Helmand, Nangarhar, Kunduz, and Farah provinces. Two other centers will also start operating soon in Farah and Kunduz provinces.
The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate also mentioned the most important achievements of the Kabul Municipality and said: In order to regulate markets and create urban order, crowded areas of Kabul city have been cleared of vendors, and 13,970 guilds have been issued permits to operate in 22 districts of the city. Also, 3,933 classes without identification licenses, the activities of 4,884 violating classes have been temporarily suspended and necessary recommendations have been provided to them.
He added: In 1447 AH, 531,580 seedlings and ornamental flowers were planted to develop green spaces, and irrigation systems have been completed in different parts of Kabul city.
According to Mujahid, during the same period, 622,111 tons of solid waste were collected and transferred to the site, and 27,305 meters of canals and 425,680 meters of roadside streams were dredged and cleaned in different areas of Kabul city.
He also explained the achievements of the Emirati Afghan Post Company and said: During 1447 AH, this company has provided the basis for the transfer of more than 5 million 28 thousand parcels within the country and 5,853 parcels abroad.
According to him, of the total of these services, the transfer of 2,677,243 official government parcels, 22,184 personal parcels, 812,229 passports and 1,277,634 electronic ID cards constitutes the major share.
Mujahid also stated that last year, Afghan Post provided services for the verification of 193,884 educational and academic documents from the Ministries of Higher Education, Education and Technical and Vocational Education, as well as the verification of 234,733 documents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
