The martyrdom of the Leader of the Revolution is not the end of the road; The final statement of the Unity Conference emphasizes the continuation of resistance and the formation of an independent security system in the Islamic world
The final statement of the 40th International Conference on Islamic Unity, centered on the martyrdom of Imam Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei (RA), announced that “the path of unity, resistance, and honor of the Islamic Ummah will not be stopped by the martyrdom of its pioneers,” and called on Islamic countries to review their defense and security doctrines and pave the way for the formation of an “indigenous and independent security system in the Islamic world.”
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The 40th International Conference on Islamic Unity concluded its work with the publication of a detailed statement. This event was held coinciding with the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS) in Tehran, Qom, Mashhad, and four other provinces of Iran.
According to the Public Relations Office of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Denominations, guests from nearly 40 countries around the world attended the conference. Also, 375 scientific-research articles were presented, more than 3,000 people participated in decentralized conferences of Unity Week inside and outside Iran, and 140 virtual lectures were recorded in side webinars. The conference was titled “Islamic Unity in the Thought of the Martyr Imam, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei” and began with a speech by Dr. Masoud Pezhakian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Context of the Conference; Mourning and Resistance
The closing statement states in its introduction that the conference was held in a situation where the Islamic world was mourning the martyrdom of Imam Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei and a group of commanders and thousands of innocent Iranian people. The same section states: “The blatant and illegal aggression of the United States and the usurping Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran and their crimes in Palestine, Lebanon, and other parts of the Islamic world once again revealed the true face of the system of domination and its hostility to the independence, dignity, and authority of Muslim nations.”

The statement emphasized that “the martyrdom of the Leader of the Revolution not only did not cause the collapse of the spirit of the Iranian nation, but it became a point for the people to renew their pledge to the ideals of Islam, the revolution, and the resistance, and to their widespread uprising and presence in defending the independence and dignity of the country.”

The seven main points of the statement
The final statement is organized into seven points, the explanation of which is as follows:
1. Islamic unity; a Quranic principle and a sustainable strategy
Before being a political and social necessity, Islamic unity is a Quranic, epistemological, and civilizational principle. Religious, jurisprudential, and theological differences must remain within the framework of ijtihad, scientific dialogue, and the ethics of disagreement, and must not turn into conflict and hostility among Muslims.

2. Transforming unity from discourse into field reality
After four decades of efforts by the Islamic Republic regime, the discourse of unity has not only become a field reality in Iran, but this model is also being followed in similar conferences in rival Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt. Unity must go beyond the level of rhetoric and annual occasions and become a practical approach in relations between Islamic nations and states.

3. The martyrdom of the martyred leader and the continuity of leadership
This paragraph states: “The martyrdom of the martyred leader is not the end of the path he outlined; rather, the name and symbol of the martyred Imam in His Holiness Ayatollah (Imam) Seyyed Mujtaba Khamenei is on the lips, and his leadership has continued with divine provision in the righteous successor of the martyred Imam.” The participants congratulated Ayatollah Seyyed Mujtaba Hosseini Khamenei on his election as the leader of the Islamic Revolution and declared their support for the continuation of the path of unity, resistance, dignity, and independence of the Islamic nation. Special appreciation and gratitude were also expressed for his message to the 40th Islamic Unity Conference.

4. The Iranian nation’s resistance to aggression
The blatant and illegal aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran was strongly condemned. The statement states: “This confrontation showed that the hegemonic powers, contrary to their claims, do not have the ability to impose their will on independent nations, and that the will of nations, their faith, resistance, and defensive power can defeat the calculations of the great powers. This battle also revealed the vulnerability of the power structures of the United States and the Zionist regime and the fragility of their image of invincibility.”

5. Palestine; the most important test ground for unity
The Palestinian issue has today become a benchmark for measuring the awakening, solidarity, and unity of the Islamic nation. The crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon and the killing of women, children, the elderly, aid workers, and journalists have challenged the conscience of humanity. The Resistance Front, despite religious, ethnic, and national differences, is an example of the synergy of faithful and freedom-loving forces against occupation and domination.

6. The failure of the division project
With reference to the verse “And sedition is more severe than killing,” sedition was called one of the most dangerous tools of the enemies to weaken the Islamic Ummah. Scholars, thinkers, media and elites of the Islamic world were called upon to strengthen the culture of dialogue, rapprochement and mutual understanding, and to close the way for Islamophobic and sectarian projects to the enemies.

7. The need to review security relations in the Islamic world
This paragraph, which is one of the most important parts of the statement, states: “The experience of the recent aggression showed that security dependence on powers outside the region cannot guarantee the stability and security of Islamic countries. We had no choice but to attack the bases from which our country was attacked. In these attacks, we were extremely concerned about the health and security of Muslim citizens of neighboring countries and took utmost care to respect regional interests.”

This paragraph continues by calling on Islamic and Arab countries to "prepare the ground for the formation of a local and independent security system for the Islamic world by reviewing their defense and security doctrines and not allow the fate of the region's security to be held hostage."
