The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved 400 million U.S. dollars in grants to protect the welfare and livelihoods of vulnerable Afghan people.

Afghanistan’s renewable energy resource potential is estimated at over 300,000 megawatts, with hydropower currently being the main source of renewable energy.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received the newly appointed Afghan Ambassador Najibullah Alikhel, who presented his credentials.

 The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has extended a USD-4-million (EUR 3.6m) loan to several companies owned by Turkey-based civil works contractor 77 Group to support the construction of a 15.1-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Afghanistan.

Based on the ADB statistics, since 2002, the bank has provided over $4 billion of aid to Afghanistan with the majority of money spent on key projects.
