President Ghani released a statement expressing profound sadness over the demise of former Minister of External Affairs of India and a senior member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sushma Swaraj.

Sushma Swaraj, the Indian Minister of External Affairs, reiterated India's commitment in securing peace and security in war-ravaged Afghanistan as she addressed the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting here on Wednesday.

United States Special Representative for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad held consultations with Indian government officials and other stakeholders, including External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj here, the US Embassy said on Tuesday.

The acting minister of defense of Afghanistan Asadullah met with the external affairs minister of India Sushma Swaraj.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Salahuddin Rabbani met in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on Sunday on the sidelines of the first India-Central Asia Dialogue. This is the first meeting between both the ministers this year.

India will host the next India-Central Asia Dialogue with the participation of Afghanistan at the foreign ministers' level in 2020.
