Naqvi in ​​Tehran again; Delivering Pakistani Prime Minister's Written Message to Leader of the Islamic Revolution

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Pakistani Interior Minister Seyed Mohsen Naqvi, who traveled to Tehran to meet and consult with senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araqchi today, Sunday, June 7. The main focus of the meeting was the delivery of a written message from Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, during which the Pakistani Interior Minister handed over Islamabad's official letter to the Iranian diplomatic service.
In this meeting, in addition to a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, the two sides exchanged views in detail on the latest status of the ongoing diplomatic process to end conflicts and manage regional tensions, which is being mediated by Pakistan.

Religious and cultural commonalities; strategic assets of two neighbors
Prior to this meeting, Dr. Eskandar Momeni, Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated on Saturday night at the end of a joint meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, referring to the deep historical ties between the two nations: “Pakistan is a very large country and we have a religious and cultural history and many commonalities with each other. Pakistan is our friend, brother and neighbor. The Supreme Leader also referred to these cultural and historical commonalities in his first message.”
Referring to the intensive agenda of the negotiations, the Iranian Minister of Interior considered an important part of the Pakistani Minister of Interior’s visit to be focused on bilateral issues and stated: “Border security, the fight against drugs and combating terrorism were among the key topics of this meeting.”
He continued by mentioning important economic decisions and noted: "Good decisions were also made in the economic field and it was decided that the volume of trade between the two countries would exceed the $3 billion mark per year and increase to the target of $10 billion per year. Of course, achieving this ambitious goal will require the full support of other ministries of the two countries."

Tehran's appreciation of Pakistan's mediating role
Dr. Momeni also recalled the close positions of the two countries at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization ministerial meeting in Bishkek and praised Pakistan's active role in regional diplomacy, saying: "I sincerely appreciate the active role of the friendly and brotherly country of Pakistan in mediating to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States."

Islamabad's account of the brotherly ties between the two nations
Following the meeting, Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi described Tehran-Islamabad relations as brotherly ties and stated: "Iran and Pakistan have brotherly relations with each other, and when a problem arises for one of the brothers, the other brother will also feel it deeply."
Pointing to the efforts of the leaders of the two countries to establish stability, he expressed hope that the current crises would end soon with the diligent efforts of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and General Asim Munir, Chief of Staff of the Pakistani Army.

In the final part of his remarks, Naqvi, while appreciating the Iranian officials, openly revealed his special diplomatic mission and said: "I am here to deliver a special letter from General Asim Munir, Chief of Staff of the Army and Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, regarding the current sensitive situation to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
