Hamid Karzai "Antiterrorism campaign must be on the basis of consensus, not personal privileges"
Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, speaking at an international conference on security in Moscow, urged the leading powers to unite their efforts in combating terrorism, Asia news journalist reported.

 Afghan Voice Agency(AVA), “If we unite our efforts and minds, we will be able to defeat this evil… My region is prone to savage attacks by terrorists. And the interaction between the major powers is now divided both in the world and in the region” – Karzai commenting on the current security situation.

According to the former president, the world powers should not only unite their efforts, but also put aside personal interests when it comes to combating extremism and terrorism.

“Today, extremism is growing and achieving its goal – IS have firmly established itself in the region, which threatens Russia, India, Iran and other countries. The cooperation was replaced by rivalry and suspicion on the part of states. The reasons for the rivalry are is not far fetch, but it’s a fact. Afghanistan in this situation suffers most. It is necessary to build the campaign against terrorism on the basis of consensus, and not seek personal privileges. ”

Hamid Karzai also called USA to work with the Afghan people on a different basis to ensure stability, while other states support the efforts of the Americans, noting that the use of bombs will not solve the problem.

According to Karzai, Afghanistan has a great desire to improve relations with Pakistan, but only when extremism ceases to be an instrument of that country’s policy.

Karzai also called on the Taliban to stop the bloodshed in their own country and sit down at the negotiating table.
