Defense Minister Bahrami visits Durand Line zero point during Paktia visit
The Minister of Defense Gen. Tariq Shah Bahrami visited the zero point of the Durand Line during his visit to the southeastern Paktia province of Afghanistan.
AVA- The provincial government media office in Paktia in a statement said Gen. Bahrami and provincial governor Shamim Khan Katawazi inspected the new military establishments constructed in Anzorkai and Nari Kand areas of Dandi Pathan district.
The statement further added that Gen. Bahrami and governor Katawazi were accompanied by a delegation of other senior civilian and military officials.
According to the provincial government, the commander of the 203rd Thunder Corps, the 203rd Spinzar Zone commander and the director of Paktia intelligence also accompanied Gen. Bahrami during the visit.
This comes as the Afghan border police forces retook the outposts built by the Pakistani military in the outskirts of Paktia along the Durand Line last week.
The local officials said last week that the outposts were built Anzarkai Kandu and Sarkai areas of Dand-e-Pathan district.
The officials further added that the outposts were built in the absence of the Afghan forces as the area was under the control of the Taliban militants.
