President Ghani met with the British Defense Minister in Kabul
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with the British Defense Minister Gavin Williamson in Kabul to discuss key issues of bilateral interest including UK’s support to the Afghan armed forces.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said President Ghani met with the British Defense Mr. Gavin Williamson in Gul Khana Palace on Friday afternoon.
The statement further added that the two sides discussed regional issues, funding and equipping of the Afghan armed forces, Afghan-led peace process and fight against terrorism.
President Ghani welcomed Mr. Williamson to Kabul and thanked the United Kingdom for its support to Afghanistan, mainly for supporting the Afghan armed force in the framework of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission, the statement by ARG Palace added.
In his turn, Mr. Williamson hailed the Afghan forces for their scarifies in the fight against terrorism and reaffirmed his country’s support for long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan, ARG Palace said, adding that Mr. Williamson also reaffirmed Britain’s support to the Afghan armed forces.
