Nearly 2,200 acres of land in 9 provinces of the country have been cleared from poppy cultivation
The Ministry of Interior says that in the continuation of the campaign to destroy poppy fields in the country, this time the anti-narcotics police in the provinces of Faryab, Badakhshan, Paktika, Nangarhar, Takhar, Kunar, Baghlan, Balkh and Ghor have confiscated nearly 2,200 acres of land. The poppy fields have been cleared.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to the officials in the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate, today, Sunday, May 14, 2023, among the 2,183 destroyed poppy lands, 777 acres of land in Pashtunkot, Balcheragh, Almar, Kohistan and Khyber districts of Faryab province and 520 acres in Badakhshan province.
 
 
Also, 400 acres of land in Paktika province, 292 acres of land in Nangarhar province, 127 acres of land in Takhar province, 38 acres of land in Kunar province, 13 acres of land in Baghlan province, 11 acres of land in Balkh province and 5 acres of land in Pasaband district of Ghor province. It has been cleared from poppy cultivation.
 
This is despite the fact that in the last few days, the process of destroying poppy fields across the country has been accelerated.
 
It should be noted that the destruction of poppy fields in the country began about a year ago after the decree of Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzadeh, the leader of the Islamic Emirate, regarding the prohibition of cultivation, smuggling and production of narcotics.
