Afghan News Agency (AVA): Saudi media have reported that the government of this country has executed five people for the crime of terrorist attack on a Shia mosque in the east of this country.

According to reports, these five people, including four Saudi Arabian citizens and one Egyptian citizen, were executed on Monday, July 3.

They have been executed for the crime of attacking the Imam Hussain (AS) mosque nine years ago in the city of Dammam, located in the eastern province of Qatif, which left four martyrs and more than ten wounded.

A week before that, the mosque of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (AS) was targeted by a suicide attack in Qadih town of Qatif province. In this attack, 21 people were martyred and more than 80 others were injured. The eastern province of Qatif is the residence of the Shia of Saudi Arabia.

Despite strong criticism from Amnesty International, Saudi Arabia also executed two Bahraini citizens in early May.
