An Earthquake of 4.2 Magnitude Hits Afghanistan’s Faizabad
An earthquake of 4.2 magnitude jolted Faizabad district of Badakhshan province.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, The earthquake of Magnitude 4.2 occurred around 12:28 pm local time, on Tuesday, 79 Km southeast of Faizabad district of Badakhshan, according to the Indian National Center for Seismology on Tuesday.
 
Earlier, a similar tremor of 4.6 magnitude struck Faizabad capital city of Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.
 
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.6, Occurred on 21-06-2023, 6:25 am local time, lat: 36.51 N/71.28E, Depth 100 km, location: Faizabad district, Badakhshan, Afghanistan.”
 
No casualties have been reported from the province as of now. 
 
The province is one of the most vulnerable regions against natural disasters, including earthquakes, landslides, snowfall, and floods.
 
The recent powerful earthquake of 6.5 occurred in March of this year in the Zebak district of Badakhshan, killing 13 people and injuring more than 100 others in the country.
 
Meanwhile, the earthquake had financial losses, including destroying agricultural land and residential houses in the province and across the country.
