Iraq’s Islamic resistance says hit Israeli target in Mediterranean Sea
Iraq’s Islamic resistance says it targeted a “vital target” in the Mediterranean Sea a few days ago as part of its anti-Israel operations, directly hitting the site.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: A source in the group told Al Jazeera on Friday that the target was the Karish gas rig in the Mediterranean using a drone.
In a statement, the Islamic resistance said the attack was carried out using “appropriate weapons.” It didn’t provide further details.
The resistance said the attack was in retaliation for Israeli massacres against civilians in Gaza.
The statement stressed the group’s commitment to keep striking Israeli targets.
Iraq’s Islamic resistance, a coalition involving an unspecified number of anti-US groups, has repeatedly targeted US bases in Iraq and Syria, as well as Israeli targets.
Also on Friday, the group said it had stricken a target in the city of Umm Rashrash, also known as Eilat, in the southern part of Occupied Palestine.
The resistance group has attacked the US-run al-Harir and Ain al-Asad bases in Iraq, as well as the US embassy in Baghdad.
The resistance says those attacks are in retaliation for the US support for the ongoing Israeli genocidal onslaught against Gaza, which has so far killed over 20,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
Moreover, the resistance has targeted bases occupied by the US forces in Syria, including the Koniko base./Press tv
