Israel must stop Gaza aggression unconditionally: OIC
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in its final communique following an extraordinary foreign ministerial meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia has demanded a complete and unconditional end to the deadly aggression of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: In the statement reported by the Al Jazeera news network, the top diplomats from OIC member states also called for the reopening of border crossings to get immediate humanitarian aid into Gaza without obstacles.
We warn against the dangers caused by the continuation of the crime of mass killing and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, they said in a joint statement, adding that the international community should take practical action to put pressure on the Zionist regime.
The 57-member OIC which has its secretariat in Jeddah held the foreign ministerial meeting on Gaza upon a request from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Last month, during a hearing on the Israeli occupation of Palestine, the OIC secretary general and a legal team also presented an oral statement at The Hague-based International Court of Justice, in which the crimes of the Israeli regime against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, were highlighted.
An OIC statement then announced that the secretariat of this organization, along with the media have started monitoring the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinians and are in the process of setting up a legal observatory to document those crimes.
Earlier, the OIC had convened an extraordinary meeting of its executive committee at the level of the foreign ministers of the member in October to review the situation in Gaza./IRNA
