Complaints of farmers of Chamtal district about lack of water and reduction of agricultural products
Farmers of Chamtal district of Balkh province have complained about the lack of water and drought in this district and they say that this problem has caused a decrease in agricultural yields and tree products in this district.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Balkh: Farmers in Chamtal district of Balkh province have complained about the lack of water in this district and say that this problem has caused a decrease in their agricultural products this year.
 
Ramzan Khan Begzadeh, one of the gardeners in Chamtal district of Balkh province, told "AVA" news agency: Gardeners and farmers are facing water shortage and there is not enough water for gardens and agricultural lands.
 
He adds that the market for selling the product of gardeners and farmers has also faced stagnation, which means the destruction of the profession of farming and horticulture. Begzadeh says that on behalf of the farmers and gardeners of Chamtal district, he asks the authorities to think of a solution to solve these problems.
 
Mohammad Zahir, another gardener in Chamtal district, also told AVA: Gardeners don't have enough water to irrigate their gardens, and on the other hand, a box of their fruit is sold in the markets at a low price, which is of no benefit to the gardeners.
 
Meanwhile, Maulavi Ajab Mohammad Noorani, the deputy of Chamtal district of Balkh province, confirmed the problems of farmers and gardeners, including the lack of water in this district, and told Ava reporter: The main problems of farmers and gardeners in Chamtal district are lack of water, drought and frost which happened in the winter of last year and these problems have negatively affected the crops of farmers and gardeners.
 
He added that the leadership of the Islamic Emirate government has decided to start the process of supporting farmers and gardeners in Chamtal district and other affected and vulnerable areas this year until the problems of gardeners and farmers are reduced to some extent.
 
The deputy of Chamtal district stated that the government intends to alleviate the farmers' problems to some extent by donating chemical fertilizers, modified eggs and other agricultural services.
 
Regarding the shortage in this district, he says that although this is a nationwide problem, necessary measures will be taken by the relevant departments.
 
Hojat-ul-Islam Abdulwahid Fuladi, head of the Shia Ulama Council in Chamtal district of Balkh province, told Ava reporter about the problems of farmers and gardeners: the occupation of the people of Chamtal district is farming, gardening and livestock, which unfortunately due to heavy snowfall last winter (even the clusters of the wheat was frostbitten) and for now, as the summer season has not yet arrived, farmers and gardeners are faced with a shortage of agricultural water in the spring season.
 
He stated that the farmers and gardeners of Chamtal district need serious help and attention from the government and if solutions are not found for the lack of agricultural water and the market for selling agricultural products in Chamtal district, people's problems will definitely increase.
