Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, The smuggler, according to the official, had placed 11 kg hashish in the cavities of a car and was attempting to take the contraband outside the province, but police on a tip-off intercepted the car and detained the man along with his illegal object.
Earlier on Saturday, police in a similar operation arrested a man and discovered 2.3 kg of heroin in his possession in northern Badakhshan province.
Personnel of the counter-narcotics police have also detained eight drug smugglers in the western Herat and 12 others in the neighboring Ghor province over the past week.
