Officials of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines say that the increase in power outages has reduced the production of factories in industrial parks by about 60 percent.

The country’s power utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat announced that the work to reconnect electricity has started in Baghlan.

The electricity department (Breshna) says the armed opposition groups repeatedly target the power pylons transferring electricity from the neighboring Uzbekistan to Kabul and some other provinces, calling on the government to enhance security measures to prevent capital blackout.
