Afghan district police chief injured, guard killed in ambush
An Afghan district governor was injured while his guard killed in a militant ambush in western Herat province on Thursday

The police official was in-charge of Pashtun Zarghun district in central Herat.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
