The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul has condemned the deadly attack on a Shiite mosque in Guzereh district of Herat and said that Iran "declares its readiness to strengthen cooperation with the caretaker government of Afghanistan to fight terrorism."
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul wrote on its X page that Iran "declares its readiness to strengthen cooperation with the caretaker government of Afghanistan to fight terrorism."
 
The Iranian embassy asked the caretaker government of Afghanistan to identify and punish the perpetrators of this incident.
 
This attack on Monday evening (April 29) targeted worshipers as they were leaving the mosque in Mohammadiyeh town, which is also known as Andisheh town, in Guzereh district of Herat.
 
According to local sources, two armed attackers on a motorcycle shot at the worshippers.
 
In this attack, six people including four men, one child and one woman were martyred and two people were injured. Sheikh Javid, who was the lawyer of the passage and the imam of the mosque, is also among the martyrs.
 
Abdul Matin Qane, the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, also said that an armed person shot at the worshipers with a Kalashnikov around 9:00 last night, as a result of which six people were martyred and one person was wounded.
 
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for this attack.
