Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the signs of a volcano in Popocatepetl region in Mexico, hospitals and some other government centers are ready to serve in emergency situations.
According to Iran Press, the Mexican government announced that it is currently not possible to predict the future activity of the Popocatepetl volcano, but gas and volcanic ash are still coming out of its crater.
It is said that Hermanus Serdan International Airport has stopped its operations due to the presence of volcanic ash on the runway. This comes after Mexico City's two main airports were temporarily closed on Saturday due to volcanic ash.
Also, warning protocols have been activated in hospital and treatment units due to reaching the warning stage.
Mexico's National Electric Company also announced that it is prepared to deal with possible effects on power supply in the states of Puebla and Telexcala due to volcanic activity.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States, the plume of smoke and ash from this volcano has spread more than hundreds of kilometers to the east and over the Bay of Campeche.
Schools in dozens of municipalities in three states were closed and evacuation drills were held on Tuesday. Residents of these areas have also been asked not to approach the volcano.
Mexico's Ministry of Defense announced that it is ready to activate 6,500 troops and shelters are being prepared.
