Manchester City won the European Super Cup for the first time
The Manchester City football team won the European Super Cup by beating Sevilla in penalty kicks.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Greece's Karaskakis Stadium hosted the European Football Super Cup match between Manchester City and Sevilla at 11:30 last night. The competition between the champions of the Champions League and the Europa League did not have a winner at the end of 90 minutes, and the fate of the game went to penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw.

Pep Guardiola's students were more successful in penalty kicks and were able to overcome Sevilla with a score of 5-4 and win the European Super Cup. A trophy that they did not have a history of conquering because they had entered it for the first time!

Erik Lamela had a good chance to score after Nathan Ake's mistake in the 2nd minute, but his shot was not accurate enough and went wide. Pep Guardiola's students took possession of the ball and the field after this situation and created several dangerous situations on the Sevilla goal within 15 minutes.

Jack Grealish's cut shot, which was hit beautifully after the dribble of the opponent's player, was sent to the corner by Yasin Bono with a timely reaction. Sevilla gradually came out from under the pressure of City and was cautiously trying to hit this team.

Jose Luis Mandilibar's students hit their star opponent in the 25th minute and opened City's goal. This goal was scored by Youssef Al-Nasiri with a spectacular header on Marcos Aconia's pass.

After this goal, City tried very hard to open Sevilla's goal and the loser could not go to the locker room, but the team's chances did not hold up until the work ended with Sevilla winning 1-0 in the first 45 minutes.

Pep's students started the second half with an attacking unity to reach a draw as soon as possible. After several failed attacks, they finally equalized in the 62nd minute. The equalizing goal of last season's Champions League was scored by Cole Palmer on Rodri's cross with a header.

Pep's students, who didn't like the penalty kicks, were looking for the lead goal with their extensive attacks in the final minutes, but they failed in doing so. Ake's hammer header in the 1+90 minute was their last attempt, which was again blocked by Yasin Bono.

This game ended with a 1-1 draw at the end of 90 minutes, and since there was no 30-minute extra time, the teams immediately went to penalty kicks to determine the winner.

The first 4 penalties of Sevilla and City were converted into goals until it was time for the final shot; Where Kyle Walker scored his shot, but Nemanja Goodley hit the ball on the goalpost so that City won the penalty shootout 4-5 and became the owner of the championship cup.
