Afghanistan, the focus of the discussion of the EU special representative with the foreign ministers of Pakistan and Indonesia
Thomas Nicholson, the EU's special representative for Afghanistan, has discussed Afghanistan with the foreign ministers of Pakistan and Indonesia in Brussels.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Last night (Thursday, April 1), Nicholson wrote on X social network that he discussed with Jalil Abbas Jilani, the acting foreign minister of Pakistan, about the European Union's support for the people of Afghanistan, education, economic development, governance and Security in this country as well as the meeting of representatives of the countries in Afghanistan's affairs has been discussed in Doha.
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has also said in a short newsletter that Jilani and Nicholson exchanged views on regional developments, including the peace and security situation.
 
According to the ministry, Jilani emphasized on the optimal use of dialogue processes to strengthen meaningful cooperation.
 
In a separate message, the EU's special representative for Afghanistan announced his meeting with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.
 
He wrote that in this meeting, he also discussed the situation in Afghanistan, the importance of international interaction and educational opportunities for everyone, and the common goal of working towards holding a constructive meeting of the United Nations in Doha.
 
The meeting of the special representatives of the countries in the affairs of Afghanistan, hosted by the Secretary General of the United Nations, is scheduled to be held on February 18 and 19 in Doha.
 
The purpose of holding this meeting is "discussing how to approach increasing international participation about Afghanistan in a coherent, coordinated and structured manner, taking into account the recommendations of the independent evaluation about this country."
 
It is not yet clear who from Afghanistan has been invited to this meeting, but Maulvi Abdul Kabir, political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has said that the Islamic Emirate has been invited to participate in this meeting.
