Turkey decision to stop trade ties with Israel valuable step
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says that the decision of Turkey to stop trade ties with Israeli regime was an effective and valuable measure.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: The top Iranian diplomat made the remarks in a meeting with the head of the Turkey-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Kayhan Turkmenoglu and his accompanying delegation on Tuesday night.
"The Turkish nation has had a worthy place and contribution in the development of Islamic civilization and culture and the spread of ethics and human values, and even today they play an effective role in supporting the oppressed Palestinian nation," Amir-Abdollahian said.
Considering Turkey's position in Iran's neighborhood policy to be special, Amir-Abdollahian said that Tehran and Ankara, as two powerful countries, can contribute to creating stable stability in the West Asian region.
Hailing the positive role of the Turkey-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group in developing the bilateral relations between the two states, the Iranian foreign minister called for strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and continuous interactions between the Iranian and Turkish lawmakers.
The will of the presidents of the two countries is to expand relations, especially in the economic field, in line with the common interests of the two nations, he said elsewhere in his remarks, referring to the recent visit of the Iranian president to Turkey.
Referring to the close cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey regarding the Gaza crisis, the top Iranian diplomat termed the decision of the Turkish president to stop trade relations with the Zionist regime an effective and valuable measure.
Turkmenoglu, for his part, appreciated Iran's support for the oppressed people in Palestine.
He also strongly condemned the Israeli terrorist attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus and emphasized that it is necessary to stop the genocide in Gaza in order to reduce the tension in the region.
Referring to the growing trend of bilateral economic and trade relations between Tehran and Ankara, he emphasized that the Turkish Parliament supports the promotion of relations between the two countries, removing existing obstacles, and accelerating the implementation of joint agreements./Mehr
