President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Zarar Ahmad Osmani, the state news agency TDH reported.
Zarar Ahmad Osmani said that the Afghan people appreciate constant assistance and support provided by Turkmenistan in socioeconomic revival of Afghanistan.
In turn, Berdimuhamedov stressed Turkmenistan's readiness to continue to provide assistance.
The sides exchanged views on prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation in priority areas, including trade and economy, power, as well as a number of other industries. Strengthening traditional cultural and humanitarian contacts was noted as an integral component of Turkmen-Afghan relations.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation in transport and energy sector in the context of practical implementation of major infrastructure projects, such as construction of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.
