Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Aslov met with Deputy Secretary of State William Burns in Washington, according to the Tajik Foreign Ministry.
Current state of bilateral security cooperation in military-political sphere, issues of strengthening partnerships, further assistance of U.S. in strengthening southern borders and increasing capacity of law enforcement agencies in Tajikistan in 2014 and subsequent years, were considered during the meeting.
The sides exchanged views on regional projects, particularly infrastructure, communications, water and energy projects and their importance in socioeconomic development of the region.
