Acting Afghan Health Minister Meets Japanese, Iranian Envoys to Kabul
Acting Minister of Public Health, Dr. Qalandar Ebad has met with the Ambassador of Japan and the Deputy Ambassador of Iran in separate meetings in Kabul.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, Public Health Ministry in a statement said, the purpose of Dr. Qalandar Ebad’s meeting with Takashi Okada, the ambassador of Japan in Kabul, was to establish coordination and collaboration between both countries in the health sector of Afghanistan.
 
In the meeting, they discussed the construction of health centers in areas of Afghanistan where the facility is currently unavailable, funding of tuberculosis drugs in the country, improvement of the capacity of health personnel, and support for the Afghan-Japan Hospital in Kabul.
 
Dr. Qalandar Ebad expressed his appreciation for Japan’s cooperation in the Afghan health sector and termed the country’s assistance vital in Afghanistan.
In another meeting with the Iranian envoy to Kabul, Seyed Hasan Mortazavi Maan, Public Health Minister talked about funding for the construction of health centers in Nangarhar, Bamyan, and Kabul province.
 
They also discussed signing a memorandum of understanding that can create good coordination between the two countries in the health sector and pave the way for more cooperation in various sectors.
