The head of the General Directorate of Afghan Red Crescent says that this organization has registered 26,481 children suffering from heart disease in the past 14 years, and almost half of them have been treated.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Today (Saturday, September 23, 2023), the general directorate of the Afghan Red Crescent wrote on X's social page that Mati-ul-Haq Khalis, the head of this directorate, said during a meeting with the family members of heart-pierced patients that the Afghan Red Crescent during In the last 14 years, 26,481 children with heart disease have been registered, of which almost half of the patients have been treated.
 
He emphasized that the Afghan Red Crescent has referred 1,801 children to hospitals for operations in the last 2 years, of which 1,600 patients have recovered and the rest are still undergoing treatment in hospitals.
 
The head of the General Directorate of the Afghan Red Crescent added: Afghanistan has many children who suffer from heart disease, which can be caused by past wars and the use of chemicals in the country.
 
Maulavi Muti-ul-Haq Khalis added that the Afghan Red Crescent is not a budgetary unit of the government, but it provides all its expenses through the income of its assets, domestic and foreign charity associations, and the help of wealthy people in the country.
 
He pointed out that our field of work is wide and in the future we are determined to provide ambulance services all over the country to transport the sick and deceased and the needy and poor families of the country to hospitals and their homes for free.
 
It is worth mentioning that yesterday, the Afghan Red Crescent introduced 30 children with a hole in the heart to two hospitals in Kabul for treatment.
