The new president of Indonesia was elected
Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Defense of Indonesia, was elected as the new president of this country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Central Election Commission of Indonesia announced that Prabowo Subianto, the Minister of Defense of Indonesia, was elected as the President of Indonesia by winning the majority of votes in the presidential election.
 
In a report on the results of the Indonesian presidential election, this commission announced on Wednesday night: Prabowo Subianto won 96 million votes in this election period.
 
According to Iran Press, the Central Election Commission of Indonesia announced on Wednesday in a statement that 164 million eligible people participated in the Indonesian presidential election, in which 80 percent of the people voted.
 
Subianto, who was accused of abusing his position during the previous dictatorship and chose the eldest son of the popular outgoing president Joko Widodo as his deputy, won 58.6 percent of the vote.
 
The Central Election Commission said former Jakarta governor Anis Basudan won 24.9 percent and former Central Java governor Ganjar Pranu 16.5 percent.
