Germany expected to send 420 additional troops to Afghanistan
The German government is expected to send 420 additional troops to Afghanistan, according to Der Spiegel on Saturday.

AVA- Currently, Germany has 980 troops in Afghanistan as part of NATO training mission Resolute Support and the deployment would bring the total to 1,400.

The increase has been raised by the German armed forces Bundeswehr and it would be discussed at the end of March next year.

The increase is expected as U.S. President Donald Trump called on NATO allies in August to send additional troops to Afghanistan after the coalition commander described the situation in the country a stalemate.

U.S. is sending 3,000 additional troops.
