Beijing To Host Afghanistan-China Economic Talks
Afghan finance ministry: The third joint economic and trade commission of Afghanistan and China will be held on Monday.

AVA- Ministry of Finance (MoF) on Sunday said the third meeting of the Afghanistan-China Joint Economic and Trade Commission will be held in Beijing on Monday where they will discuss strengthening economic and trade ties between the two nations.

From Afghanistan, finance minister Iklil Hakimi and a delegation will attend the meeting.

The meeting will focus on securing Chinese investments in energy, infrastructure projects, water management, a railway that includes Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. Also to be discussed, are the implementation of gas projects between the region’s countries and the silk roadmap, said finance ministry.

“Expansion of economic and trade ties between the two nations will be discussed in this meeting,” finance deputy minister Mohammad Khalid Payenda said.

Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) has meanwhile said China is one of the most important countries in terms of having trade ties with Afghanistan and that expansion of trade relations between the two nations will benefit Afghanistan and the region.

“By expanding trade and transit relationships with China, we also will become part of the big projects being implemented by China in the region,” ACCI spokesman Seyam Pesarlay said.

China recently established a bank for infrastructure projects and strives to support of the world’s countries in its development projects.
