AVA- The 2019 World Happiness Report, released by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, showed that Afghanistan were nine spots down from last year.
Afghanistan is only above Central African Republic and South Sudan in the latest index. Finland remained on first place in the list.
The report ranks countries considering GDP per capital, social support, health life expectancy, social freedom, generosity and absence of corruption.
The report noted that, in general, happiness levels have declined worldwide despite continued economic growth.
“The worldwide tendency of a considerable decline in average happiness, despite the general growth in GDP per capita, is proof that measuring happiness and life satisfaction in terms of economic wealth alone is not at all sufficient,”said Meik Wiking, CEO of Denmark-based think-tank The Happiness Research Institute, who took part in the report.
