Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in a message on the occasion of World Education Day on his Twitter page, asked the Islamic Emirate to change its decision to ban women from going to schools and universities in Afghanistan.
Antonio Guterres has said that it is time to put an end to the laws and practices that affect education.
However, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) says that the presence of women in Afghan universities increased almost 20 times in 2 decades; But today they are not allowed to continue higher education in the country.
On the eve of World Education Day, this organization said that banning girls' education in Afghanistan is unacceptable.
UNESCO has dedicated the World Education Day to the education of girls and women in Afghanistan.
The organization tweeted: "Join us on Education Day and say loud and clear: Let Afghan girls learn."
It should be remembered that not long ago, the Ministry of Higher Education of the Islamic Emirate banned girls from going to universities until further notice.
